That whole thing about there being plenty of time to sleep when you’re dead is true, in a sense. Well, if you see that as a good enough reason to lie down and stop going.

You shouldn’t think with any notion of a wind-down when you are living, even if you sense that the end is near. Why? Because you might cheat the game and get some extra life, and that whole portion, which you never thought you’d get turns out to be a damned sight better than anything you could have dreamed up in your wildest moments.

Writing is a gift, as is art, as is any creative endeavour, and if you get one person to read it and appreciate it, and you change their day, you are an alchemist, and you can bank that gold forever.
