Do you know what the greatest gift you can give to yourself as a writer? A community. There is no need in this day of social networking and easy communication and freedom of the means of high quality production to be isolated, and in the past there have been groups like ‘The Vicious Circle’, ‘The Inklings’, and ‘The Beat Generation’ who have benefited inestimably from being associated with a collective of like-minded people.

I have been a part of groups myself, and I find that I produce my best work when I have that fuel of friendship, and that crucible in which to form and forge creativity. Time to start building a community again.
