I know that there are people who are going to disagree with me on this point – but I think you can too clear in your prose. You can forget the poetry and the music that should sing in every phrase, and this is because some part of you thinks and has been convinced that you have to be plain spoken.

Art does not come from an instruction manual. Look at the paint by numbers bullshit all the pre-chewed food advocates of baby-feed-on-demand culture tell you to want and you will see soulless photocopies of the greats, with the echoes getting more hollow through the years.

A renaissance can be started by anyone – and it is a high purpose mission that you can seize upon and make your own. Be as high-flown as you wish. Sink yourself in poetry and rise through it majestically.
