A couple of days solid of watching ‘The Actor’s Studio’ and I fall in love with the show all over again – I haven’t had cable in a while, so finding a channel on Youtube that has it is a blessing. I have said elsewhere how much I love interviews, as they are the perfect delivery system for advice that bypasses that whole problem of didacticism, which is off-putting.
Poem a day rolls on pulling me in all different directions I am glad to be pulled in- if you ever find yourself in a comfort zone as far as your writing you should go and find a challenge and get yourself kicked in the rump; this has been a regular kick in the pants apart from, I think last year, where I skipped it (I could be wrong in that), but it is time well invested.
I am writing another episode of Walking The Metafloor and enjoying the building tension, because I know at some point the surface tension of the bubble will burst, and the lives of the characters will get turned upside down.
I found out today that Margaret Thatcher passed and I hate to be uncharitable, but my immediate thoughts were not good – she and Mary Whitehouse are among the figures of childhood who inform the monsters I populate my stories with nowadays. I wrote a muted thing on Goodreads called MT which is a poetic obituary for her, and all I feel I want to write about her.
The week will roll out nicely I think, and the work, will, as ever, accrue.
